The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has announced the recipients of the National Sports Awards 2023, with Chirag Chandrashekhar Shetty and Rankireddy Satwik Sai Raj being honored with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for their outstanding contributions to Badminton. Additionally, 26 sports persons have been selected for the Arjuna Awards, recognizing exceptional performance in Sports and Games during 2023.
Among the Arjuna awardees is cricketer Mohammed Shami, acknowledged for his remarkable achievements while representing Team India. The prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 9, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the awardees will be presented with their honors by the President of India.
